These guys have impeccable style and it was a pleasure to work with them to create this invitation ensemble. Congrats, guys!
Something recent from my journal that I wanted to share:
In the heart of the Waterloo Arts District, Native Cleveland offers unique art, jewelry, clothing, and pro-Cleveland gear made by local artists. Now, you can find my zine there too. I couldn't resist a buying a bumper-sticker and a couple of pins for my out-of-control collections. The little button reads, "Cleveland, It's Not That Bad". Awesome.
This is a new sample illustration I just finished...inspired by a friend and her beautiful new baby!
My rep asked me to think about doing a blog post that gives people more insight into my process or that explains what being an illustrator is like. When I was writing in my journal one day, I wrote down (and doodled) some ideas. Scroll away!
I still get a jolt of happiness and pride when I see my cards. I occasionally do illustrations for American Greetings on a freelance basis. In fact, I'm working on one now!
I just made some new bumper stickers for my old Toyota and decided to make them available to purchase on CafePress. Check them out here.
As I was picking up some paper towels and detergent, I decided to swing by the greeting card aisle. These are some of my illustrations for American Greetings that you'll only find at Target. (Click on the image to see more)
It's official...I'm proud to say that I'll be working with Art In Motion, in New Westminster, BC Canada! With their expert guidance, I hope to license my artwork on all kinds of products, including: textiles, pillows, lamps, gift wrap, photo albums, journals, photo frames, dinnerware, greeting cards, decorative plates, ceramic tiles, placemats, coasters, trays, table linens, calendars, stationery, porcelain, decorative boxes, and wallpaper. It's going to be an exciting time of learning as I begin to expand into these new product categories.
Of course, Lindgren & Smith is still going to represent me for the publishing, advertising and editorial side of things.
My portfolio will take some time to be up on the site, but here it is if you'd like to check it out: Art in Motion
Thanks for visiting me! I've recently redesigned my site and added many new samples to my portfolio. Now, I'll be able to keep you posted on all of my projects with a blog that is right here on the site. Also, I'll be adding quality prints, zines, and products to my shop as they become available. I hope you'll share this with your friends and visit often. Thanks!
